An island, and what that changes
Marco Island sits at the southern end of our service area in 34145, connected by the causeway and covering everything from the beachfront towers through the canal-front homes to Hideaway Beach.
The practical fact about the island is that everything off it is a drive. Getting to a physical therapy clinic in Naples means the causeway and then the city, twice, for every appointment in a course of treatment. For a plan of eight or ten visits, that is a large amount of a season spent in a car.
That is the single clearest case for a mobile practice, and it is why the island is on our list rather than treated as an outlying extra. There is no travel charge here.
Condominium living and the model
A large share of the island’s residents are in high-rise buildings. Two things follow from that.
The first is access, which is simply a matter of procedure. Front desks and security are used to clearing expected visitors; tell us how yours works and it is a non-issue.
The second is space. Condominium living rooms are not always ideal for the loading stage of a rehabilitation plan. Most of the towers have fitness rooms, and where the building allows it, working there gives us equipment and room to progress properly. Say at the evaluation whether that is an option for you.
What the island generates
Golf, boating and beach walking, in roughly that order, plus the ordinary orthopedic and post-surgical work that any population produces.
Boating deserves a mention because people do not classify it as physical. Loading gear over a gunwale, handling lines, and standing on a moving deck for hours are real demands, and shoulders and lower backs pay for them. We treat that the same way as a sports injury: identify which restriction the task is exposing, then rebuild toward the task.
Seasonal residents
Marco has a pronounced season. If you are here for part of the year, tell us at the evaluation so the plan fits the stay: hands-on work front-loaded, a home program you can genuinely run alone, and telehealth afterwards where licensure permits it.
